ADT or Ideal CCTV ?
Regarding CCTV Installations often the question is asked which of the two leadin National Security Cameras is the better choice. It is of course hard to make a general judgement. I believe though that for cctv installations Ideal CCTV probably the better choice.
ADT's engineers have to split their work experience and product knowledge over all security installation services like intercom systems, gates and barriers, card reading systems, fire alarm systems, burglar alarms etc... the list is long.
Ideal CCTV' installers work with Security Cameras 100% of the time. This leads to a generaly faster maturing of working routines, procedures and fault finding techniques. Due to high orders of dedicated CCTV Equipment, their purchasing managers probably also get lower prices from the manufacturers can give very competitive quotes.
Another advantage of ADT is that if you need several types of systems installed (burglar alarm, door entry and CCTV) you have one company dealing with the entire security installation.
For small home security CCTV Systems again, Ideal CCTV offers quite neat DIY packages for small budged. These are certainly a better buy than the Chinese imports available on e-bay and similar places.
I hope this helps you in making your decision... it really depends on your needs and situation.

Hello there,
I work for a CCTV lens suppplier and would like to know how important is it to use the correct lens for the job. Do installers receive training for this or do they rely on the advise of Technical Sales people like myself for advise?
I just need to know so I can market my product and services better.
Regards,
Faz
Hello fazil,
I would say about one third of the CCTV Engineers gets trained professionally / Tavcom Courses etc.. the others simply learn by experience.
Many installers use vari focal lenses as standart! This keeps orders and organisation simple and uncomplicated.
My personal preference has always been to order 50% Varifocal lenses (about 3-8.5mm) and the rest specific to specification. A few wide angle and a few 6 or 8mm.
So the only advice I can give you here is to have a good 3.5 - 8mm lense at a very good price to get people in.
Thank you very much for the info. If you are in the market for some lenses, please do get in touch.
